The thing quietly hijacking your health

It's in your body right now, here's what you can do

THIS WEEK’S CODE:

💡 The focus   → Toxin build up, impact how you feel and age

⚠️ The impact → Increase inflammation, accelerated aging, less energy

The fix        → Exercise, hydration, and improved air quality

Read time: 4 minutes

It’s not uncommon to think detoxing means drinking green juice and going through 48-hour fasts.  These things may have their health benefits still but...

Your body is already built to detox - it just needs the right support.

The problem is we’re exposed to more toxins than ever before - pesticides, micro plastics, heavy metals, and air pollution all sneak into products we use daily, including your food and water.

You don’t really need extreme cleanses to detox.

Just creating simple habits in and around detoxing goes a long way.

Toxins build up in silence

You’re not just going to “feel off” from toxins.  Your energy, sleep, metabolism, and even how you age all get negatively impacted from absorbing and storing toxins in your body, oftentimes without you even knowing it.

You’re getting toxins everyday from...

  • Pesticides & glyphosate (more on this later) lingering on the food you eat

  • Air pollution from the air outside as well as the air in your house

  • Plastics and heavy metals from everyday things like water bottles and cookware

And they’re doing this to you...

  • Creating inflammation, which can turn chronic, leading to all kinds of issues from joint pain to heart disease.

  • Draining your energy from stressing your mitochondria (your cell’s energy producers)

  • Speeding your aging up by damaging your skin and organs

The detox trifecta: Sauna, hydration, & air quality

Infrared saunas

Regular sauna sessions do wonders for circulation, reducing inflammation, and aiding cellular repair.  Sweating out those toxins is one of the best things you can do, especially from heavy metals and plastics.

Hydration

This one is self explanatory but stick to filtered water or level up with electrolytes to replenish minerals lost as you detox.

Air quality

Most people focus on food and water, which they still should, but forget that they breath in air 24/7.

  • Use an air purifier with a HEPA filter and start in your bedroom for the biggest impact

  • Ventilate your space and bring in fresh oxygen by opening your windows for 10 minutes a day

  • Avoid synthetic air fresheners, opting for essential oils, beeswax candles, or simple fresh air

You could start detoxing immediately

Simply moving, from walking, running, or basic exercise gets your lymphatic drainage going, which is key to detoxing

Start the day with lemon water, back to hydration and supporting liver function

Check your environment, from air purifiers to using non-toxic cleaners and avoiding plastics as much as possible all make a difference

Speaking of which, my wife Kayla and I recently went through and did the semi-annual filter swap for all of our air purifiers at home.  At the very minimum you should put one in your bedroom given we spend a third of our life sleeping in there.

Who doesn’t want to breathe clean air in their home after all?

TLDR TRIO

🌡️ Use an infrared sauna regularly

💧 Try drinking one more glass of water each day, before 2pm

🧪 Ensure your home has proper air filter coverage, keeping your filters clean
